Argento Reserva Torrontes

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

It’s time for a Latin carnival with this indigenous varietal from Argentina called Torrontes. It is an aromatic white known for it’s low acidity, smooth texture and tropical fruit flavours. Argento pays homage to Argentina’s long history of creating wines and this shows all the flair and promise the country has, as a world-class wine producing country. This combines floral and citrus aromas with intense flavours of peach, and a hint of mint before a refreshing acid finish. This would go well with some grilled fish or even Asian inspired dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

This aromatic Torrontés offers an intense floral perfume typical of the true Argentine variety. The concentrated flavours of peach and citrus are complemented by minty eucalyptus notes – dry and a fresh with a clean mineral finish.

Argento Reserva Torrontes

Expert Reviews

Matt Skinner (2008 Vintage) says
Torrontes is the premier white grape of Argentina Ð producing full-blown dry white wines from the harsh and windswept foothills of the Andes Mountains. The best examples are fermented cool and matured in older oak or, as in this case, produced oak-free. Bearing an uncanny resemblance to viognier, you can look forward to a vibrant nose of musk stick, white peach, and citrus oil, and an expansive, full and broad palate with slippery texture, firm acidity and a long drying finish. Drink it with poached chicken, Chinese greens and rice.
