Cracka Review

Arras is the Krug of Australia. It's one of our best producers of Sparkling wine styles, and this pretty in pink fizz has scents of savouriness and red fruits on the nose with hints of croissants. The palate is quite fullsome and rich with taut acidity, fine, cleansing bubbles, and a dry, elegant finish. Some smoked salmon would be the bomb with this.

Winemaker's Notes

Born of a long-held desire to craft world class sparkling wines, the House of Arras is a true expression of its origin and maker – a marriage of exceptional cold climate Tasmanian vineyards and uncompromising sparkling winemaking techniques mastered over decades. The House of Arras Rose´ is a sophisticated sparkling rose´ style with a wonderful balance of red fruits and complexity from age.

Moderate salmon pink in colour, with a lively and persistent fine bead, the 2004 Arras Rose´ displays enticing aromas of fresh red berry fruits, married to the complexity of extended tirage maturation; along with brioche like yeast, nougat and exotic spices.
,br> The palate is rich, yet structurally elegant with immense complexity and persistence. Savoury characters mingle with nuances of ripe strawberries and cream on the low dosage palate, and are held together by the fine acid backbone. This wine exhibits great persistence with a sublime refreshing finish.

Arras Sparkling Rose

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Very pale salmon-pink; a blend of pinot noir and chardonnay that spent 7 years on yeast lees; it is vibrantly fresh, and has the fine spider web of tannins that sparkling winemakers seek to build in their best wines, giving the wine a certain reticence and finesse.
