Arrowfield Estate Sparkling Shiraz

A combination of cool climate shiraz from Orange and old vine Hunter shiraz. White pepper, and raspberry aromas from the Orange shiraz combine with the earthy, leather savoury characters of Hunter shiraz. These flavours carry onto the long, intense palate and integrate seamlessly with the soft savoury tannins. A complex sparkling shiraz which will reward further cellaring for up to 10 years.

Both parcels of Shiraz grapes were fermented separately in small open fermenters. The ferment was allowed to reach 27C before finishing the remainder of the ferment at 22C. The wine was matured in 1-3 year old French oak barriques, 12 months for the Orange parcel, 24 months for the Hunter parcel. The wine was then blended and bottled. A secondary fermentation was initiated and the wine left to age on yeast lees for a further 12 months prior to disgorging.

This NV sparkling Shiraz is the perfect BBQ wine. Serve slightly chilled.
