The red wines of Madiran usually mean the varieties of tannat and cab franc are involved. So, what you get are wines like this one that scream out for a nice juicy steak. It's a full-bodied, inky number that shows rich red berries and plums on the nose, together with whiffs of mocha, crushed leaves and earthiness. The palate is robust with a rich plummy centre, solid tannins, and a dry, savoury finish. It would cellar for a few years.
Inky purple colour. A powerful nose with aromas of red fruit, stone fruit, roasted notes and cocoa beans. The palate is full and rich with a roundness and structure which together forms a pleasant balance dominated by an aromatic freshness. The finish is long.
