Made from 20 to 50-year-old vines, this is most definitely the 'value' buy from Artardi - and it’s awesome! Ripe black and blue fruits decorate the nose, with cinnamon and ground ginger spices sprinkled over the top. The palate is medium to fuller-bodied, with lush black fruit flavours, licks of savoury earthiness, solid tannins, and a long, tight finish. This would benefit from cellaring.
Neither jubey nor dry, this mid-weight premium drinks well now and has a decent future. Dark, purply and spicy fruit spectrum is given wonderful style and mouthfeel by great fruit tannin and beautifully integrated acid and subtle French oak. Everything is very nicely framed with a fine fruit-savoury interplay and balance.
