Askerne Botrytis Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2006 Vintage) says
The gold/amber 2006 vintage was hand-picked at 46 brix, with a heavy botrytis infection, and fermented and aged for 10 months in old French oak casks. It's a treacly, very sweet Hawke's Bay wine (250 grams/litre of residual sugar), oily and rich, with peach, tea and honey aromas and flavours. Quite developed for its age, it's ready for drinking.

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
Made from fully botrytised bunches, estate-grown in Hawke's Bay, the 2003 vintage is golden, with honey and tea aromas. It's a rich, powerful, almost heavy wine (15 per cent alcohol), with some complexity and crisp, sweet, apricot flavours.
