Askerne Hawke's Bay Merlot Franc Malbec

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
The 2008 vintage was estate-grown and hand-picked, but shows a slight lack of ripeness. Fullish and slightly developed in colour, it is distinctly leafy, with plummy, spicy flavours, showing some complexity, and satisfying depth.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
The 2007 vintage is a blend of Merlot (67 per cent), Cabernet Franc (20 per cent) and Malbec (13 per cent), matured in French oak casks (22 per cent new). Estate-grown, it is deeply coloured and full-bodied, with strong plum, spice and herb flavours. It's green-edged, but also shows some complexity and generosity.
