Astrolabe Province Pinot Gris

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Astrolabe continues to produce some of the finest wines from the Marlborough region and this Pinot Gris is a reminder that it’s not just Savvy that soars in the region. Great with pasta, pork or fish dishes, this aromatic white mixes up stone fruit, pear and minerals with just a hint of vanilla. Well structured with a harmonious balance between fruit and acids that finishes dry with crisp.

Winemaker's Notes

In the province of Marlborough, high sunshine hours are moderated by a mild sea while steep mountains keep moist and chilly winds at bay. A long cool growing season leads to gorgeous flavours.

My goal is to make the Province wines in a classic Marlborough vein, emphasising the varietal intensity created by leafy vineyards, ripe fruit and cool-climate growing. – Simon Waghorn, Winemaker
