Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
The 2009 vintage was grown in Hawke's Bay and French oak-aged. Ruby-hued, it's an easy-drinking, medium-bodied style with plummy, slightly spicy flavours and a smooth finish.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
The 2007 vintage is a top buy. Grown in Hawke's Bay, co-fermented with a small portion of Viognier and matured in mostly seasoned oak barrels, it is spicy and silky textured, with strong plum and black-pepper flavours, gamey, savoury notes adding complexity and a floral bouquet.

Toasty nose with a thread of menthol running through it. The palate has generous depth and quantity of dark fruits, with a lovely smooth, velvety mouthfeel. A very attractive wine.
