Babich Hawke's Bay Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
Typically a decent quaffer, matured for six months in seasoned American and French oak casks. The 2002 vintage, grown at Fernhill, is a green-edged, middleweight wine, fruity and berryish, with a slightly spicy, smooth finish. The 2003, blended from Cabernet Sauvignon (64 per cent) and Merlot (36 per cent), is a fruit-driven style, lightly oaked, with medium body and fresh, plummy, berryish flavours.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Typically an honest red, not concentrated but well balanced and highly drinkable. Verging on three-star quality, the 1998 vintage is based on Fernhill grapes and was matured for nine months in seasoned oak casks. Full in colour, with fresh blackcurrant/plum flavours, it's a vibrantly fruity, uncomplicated red, offering enjoyable drinking during 2000.
