How to find a new way to market Kiwi sauvignon, make one that appeals to the eco-minded of course! Babich have always had a healthy attitude when it comes to the environment and the fruit for this wine was farmed organically. This is as pure an expression of Sauvignon Blanc fruit as you could hope for, with lime zest and flinty mineral characters on the nose. The flavours are clean and precise with melon, apples and minerals all jostling for attention while a ripe fleshiness adds to the mouthfeel.

Winemaker's Notes

Our Headwaters organic block is fully certified and is farmed in compliance with organic standards. First made in 2009, this crisp dry Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown on the organic block in Marlborough and vinified in compliance with organic standards.

Nose: The nose presents as clean and flinty with mineral pretty floral notes and kiwifruit also.

Palate: There is a lovely purity of texture and an attractive fleshiness in the mouth. Clean, crisp acids are augmented by mineral notes and wholesome flavours notably melon and granny smith apples. Honey dew melon lingers on the finish.

Food: Great with seafood. Try with fresh oysters!

Cellaring: Best enjoyed while young.

This has a lovely generosity on the nose, with plenty of ripe lime and melon fruits, some peach and sweet floral perfume. The palate's nicely textured, with a smooth build of melon and quince, and a little spiced pear; finishes with a fragrant kick.
