Michael Cooper (2006 Vintage) says
This is one of the country's best Pinotages. Grown in Gimblett Road, Hawke's Bay, and matured in American oak casks (15 per cent new), the 2006 vintage is dark, with a spicy, earthy bouquet. Gutsy and generous, with concentrated, plummy flavours, the earthy notes typical of Pinotage, and firm tannins, it's full of personality and ready for drinking. The 2005 is still youthful in colour, with strong, ripe plum and spice flavours, earthy and nutty. Ready.

This is one of the country's finest Pinotages - arguably the finest. Grown in Gimblett Road, Hawke's Bay, harvested at over 25 brix and matured for a year in new and seasoned French and American oak casks, the 2002 vintage is richly coloured and supple, with sweet-fruit delights and strong, plummy, spicy, gamey flavours. It's a delightful red, for drinking now onwards.

Grown in Gimblett Road, Hawke's Bay, and oak-aged for a year, the 2001 vintage has full, youthful colour and the slightly gamey characters of Pinotage, Mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol), plummy and spicy, it is fresh, rich, vibrantly fruity and supple, with some savoury complexity and gentle tannins.

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
The 1999 vintage, tasted from the barrel, looked excellent. Grown in the Gimblett Road shingle country of Hawke's Bay and harvested "fantastically ripe" (over 24 brix), it's a richly coloured wine with a berryish, gamey bouquet and soft, concentrated flavours.
