Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2012 Vintage) says
It's presently a little oaky and needs to flesh out, but this young chardonnay should become more creamy and unctuous over the next year. Its spicy aromas of grapefruit, melon, cashew and slightly raw and cardboardy vanilla oak reveal some creamy complexity. It delivers a gentle fruitfulness down the palate, becoming slightly fatty and more viscous, before finishing fresh and gentle.

Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
A fine, elegant chardonnay whose bright aromas of white peach, nectarine, honeydew melon and vanilla oak reveal undertones of cashew and lemon sherbet. It's supple and restrained, with a juicy, almost fluffy presence of tropical and stonefruit flavours integrated with creamy complexity and sweet vanilla oak. It finishes with a faintly edgy metallic and greenish aspect.

Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
A peachy, creamy bouquet of modest intensity backed by fresh vanilla oak precedes a long, fine and elegant palate whose gentle presence of restrained melon and citrus flavour is backed by a pulpy extract before finishing with soft acids, lingering notes of minerals and green olives.

The paradox of the '09 bushfire year was the cool summer either side of 10 days of hell; moreover, the skins of white grapes are removed before fermentation, the smoke taint in the skins remains bound in those skins and does not affect the wine. This chardonnay has soft stone fruit and melon flavours coupled with toasty oak and a shaft of citrussy acidity.

Very full and buttery wine with subtle peach/grapefruit complexity to the nose and a well-balanced, creamy palate with nice zesty minerality.
