The Balgownie vineyards were planted way back in 1969 and the cooler climate ensure wines such as Sauvignon Blanc really show their true character. The cool conditions of the vintage produced a wine that is full of lifted passionfruit and tropical lychee. There’s a distinct citrus tang on the palate before it finishes long, crisp and dry. Serve it chilled with oysters and a squeeze of lemon.

Winemaker's Notes

Cool to warm conditions prevailed in the Yarra Valley for vintage 2012. Two clones of Sauvignon Blanc were harvested in two separate passes to provide fresh vibrant fruit characters along with richer tropical notes.The free-run juice was fermented cool over a 6-week period, retaining lively crisp fruit expression. Bottling occurred after gentle filtration in the second week of July 2012.

Showcases a burst of classic varietal aromas combining tropical fruits and grassy characters. The palate continues the theme exhibiting a medley of bright tropical fruit flavours together with sun ripened passionfruit. A long fine acid finish is a perfect conclusion.
