Normally, we'd suggest you drink shiraz sourced from the Riverland within 12 months or so of being released. But this wine reflects the extra care (longer than usual contact with the grape skins after fermentation) that went into its making: it's still a good full purple colour, and has really plush, dark bramble fruit smells and smoky oak. It's a full-bodied, dark wine that needs full-flavoured food.

Excellent red-purple; strong black cherry and vanilla oak flood the bouquet; American oak is a little overplayed on the palate, but there is plenty of flavour and horsepower at the price.
