Banrock Station Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Chardonnay revolution continues to gather supporters across the nation and Banrock release a version that’s quite literally rocking! This is the taste of sunshine in a glass made with fruit sourced from the Riverland region in South Australia. It’s lifted with peach and citrus, a burst of tropicality and some sweet vanillin oak. The palate delivers all this and more with fruit salad like flavours, a creamy and soft mouthfeel before some subtle oak rounds it all out. It’s a nicely textured wine with good balance and natural acids making it the perfect choice for roast chicken or creamy smoked salmon and dill pasta dish.

Winemaker's Notes

The Banrock Station Chardonnay exhibits intense fruit aromas of citrus and peach with hints of tropical notes, spicy vanilla bean and sweet oak. The palate displays fresh and juicy fruit salad flavours of peach, melon and honeydew, with a light oak influence. This wine has a soft and creamy full bodied texture, balanced acid and excellent length.

Food Pairing: Enjoy served with full flavoured seafood and chicken dishes.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Unapologetically old-fashioned on ‘ain’t broke, don't fix' philosophy; has depth and a fair slab of phenolics. 'Help us help the earth' neck tag pulls purse strings.
