Barwick Estates White Label Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Arguably the best wine in Barwick's White Label range, this shows much of the mid weight glory that good cool WA Cabernet can show. The only problem really is the white label. Why white? Deadly boring we see. Why not gold? At least a little bit sexier than plain white...

Winemaker's Notes

NOTES: - This Cabernet Sauvignon delivers great varietal aromas of ripe cassis, blackberries, chocolate and eucalypt, giving way to delicious fruit flavours and well integrated French oak.

COLOUR: - Bright ruby/red.

NOSE: - Elegant nose with cassis, red berry and hints of cedary oak and chocolate.

PALATE: - A well structured and tight palate, exhibiting flavours of cassis/berry, great tannin structure with some charred oak finish.

CUISINE: - This is a great red to enjoy with a nice juicy fillet steak on the grill or BBQ.

A medium bodied cabernet displaying some nice varietal characters on the nose and palate. Minty black olive and black currant characters. Lighter layer of French oak has added nicely to the mix. Well structured with impressive length and fruit intensity for this price.

Big, ÒbustyÓ, up-front, sweet style with some plum and berry cabernet definition and toasty oak.

Clean, fresh, direct cassis-accented cabernet fruit; no frills, but good length and balance. Value.

This is the Pemberton cabernet and probably shows the purer varietal fruit characters of the two. Very nice oak and fruit integration with fine tannins and a supple seamless palate. Like the minty lift on the nose. Drinking very nicely now.

A dense fruity and slightly syrupy cabernet with a keen mineral edge. The ripe earthy fruit has some weight, showing plenty of regional chocolate and minty characters typical of the Blackwood.
