This bonny little barbara is like a hipster on a scooter - throughly modern and very 'now'. Light to medium-bodied in style, it shows aromas of crunchy red fruits, especially raspberries, along with whiffs of dried herbs and toasty oak. The palate is elegant and very approachable, with some pepper spice mixed in with the red berry flavours, fine, friendly tannins, and a decent spicy finish. It will be good over the next couple of years with a rich pork dish.
Wine Profile: Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. Nose is delicate with scents of toasty ripe fruit. Warm, full and harmonious, delivering the typical freshness of Barbera.
Food: Best served at 18-20 C. Ideal for accompanying white or red meats, meat with sauces and medium to mature cheeses.
