Battle of Bosworth McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
The grapes are organically grown on the estate; open fermented, part finishing in barrel with 80% French (30% new) and used American oak. A powerful wine with abundant cassis fruit, and more structure than many from the vintage, cedary oak aiding the outcome. 14.5% alc.

Tyson Stelzer (2010 Vintage) says
A mood of authenticity, raw, uninhibited black fruits and well-handled oak. Mint and even a hint of fennel define a wine of character and impeccable ripeness, with textural tannins that reach every corner.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Medium purple-crimson; one of many wines to demonstrate the synergy between McLaren Vale's Mediterranean climate and cabernet sauvignon; only medium-bodied, and the tannins are a little adrift, but will come together in a year or so. Organically grown.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Good hue, although lacks depth; ripe cassis and blackcurrant fruit on the bouquet and medium-bodied palate alike falls short of overripe, although the wine is amiable rather than an autocratic cabernet style.
