Cracka Review

Chardonnay + Viognier makes for a rich embrace of a wine. Peaches, apricots and cream in a round and playful package with more personality than you can poke a stick at. Drink it well chilled, ideally with a big plate of roast chicken.

Winemaker's Notes

The wine has a wonderful pale colour with hints of green at the edges. A delicate nose of spice, sandalwood and citrus peel is complemented on the palate by flavours of citrus and spice and the wine finishes extraordinarily long with fine, fine, acid length.

Battle of Bosworth Organic Chardonnay Viognier

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Has considerable life and vivacity given the vintage; citrus-tinged melon, white peach and an autosuggestion of apricot. Certified organic.

Matthew Jukes & Tyson Stelzer (2007 Vintage) says
The Battle is on again. You dive in for the first sniff, expecting excitement, but don’t realise that you’ll be exhaustively rubber-necking this wine for hours because the haunting drip of Viognier forces you to double take in order to get hit after hit of its stunning aroma. We were lured in by the 2006 last year and now we are completely besotted with the pretty florals, lithe frame and lovely shape of the 2007.
Taste Food & Wine Guide - 2008
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Flavoursome wine; stone fruit, especially including apricot, bears testament to the blend; no oak obvious.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Generous fruit off-set by crisp acidity; well enough made but an androgynous blend.
