Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
This is a super chardonnay with bright and lively stone fruits framed perfectly in baking spices and oak-derived, mealy complexity, vanilla custard and just the right amount of toast; it s looking good. The palate has crisp and crunchy appeal with tingly acidity running through fleshy melon, pear, peach and apple fruits. Beautifully crafted.
Good Wine Guide 2013
Tyson Stelzer (2010 Vintage) says
Beautifully refined chardonnay of well-defined white peach and grapefruit flavours and taut lemon juice acidity. There's a wonderful contrast here between high-tensile Tassie fruit and the layered complexity of gunflint and lees autolysis. Outstanding, mouthfilling texture and brilliant length exemplify fine craftsmanship.
Wine Taste Special Edition 79
Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
Complex, wild and unusual - a genuine Chablis-like effort with Tasmanian chardonnay - with an edgy and rather nutty bouquet of evolved lanolin and waxy influences over light notes of grapefruit, melon and lemon. Fine and very elegant, its lean expression of citrus tart and melon flavour drives long and focused towards a savoury finish of trim acidity and lingering meaty and earthy aspects.
The Australian Wine Annual 2014 Edition 2014
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Bright, light green-gold; fresh white-flesh stone fruit and lemon curd; good barrel ferment oak; good length. Gold medal Tas Wine Show '11.
Australian Wine Companion 2012
Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
Chardonnay with shape and cut. Complex aromas of grapefruit, melon and struck match whose smoky undertones of iodine and briny oyster shell, reveal earthy and meaty complexity. It's long, lean and racy, with generous flavours of grapefruit, quince and cumquat tightened with fine shape and focus, finishing with bright fruit, fresh acids and a lingering slatey aspect.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
The fragrant bouquet is driven by citrus and white peach, as is the vibrant and lively palate, complexed by a touch of toasty oak and Tasmanian acidity. Gold medal Tas and Sydney Wine Shows '10.
Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
A complex, Macon-like chardonnay with a delicate, waxy and nutty perfume of grapefruit, melon and floral notes backed by suggestions of struck match, smoked bacon and funky, creamy leesy notes. Initially round cind generous, with a layered, crunchy presence of brightly-lit fruit, it extends in a leaner fashion towards a savoury finish whose long, lingering core of melon and citrusy flavour is punctuated by a tingling acidity and a drying minerality.
Australian Wine Annual 2010 2009
James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Obvious barrel ferment inputs on the bouquet, but the fine, intense fruit of the palate more than handles the oak; has an authoritative lingering finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Elegant, fine and racy, this fruit-driven young chardonnay still reveals plenty of smoky, bacony and funky complexity. Zesty aromas of grapefruit, lemon rind, white peach, apple and pear overlie smoky suggestions of vanilla oak and lime zest. Its long, elegant palate of piercingly fresh and crunchy fruit finishes long and focused, tangy and sherbet-like, with meaty, waxy and savoury elements.
Australian Wine Annual 2009 2008
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Has the particular type and finesse which only comes from Tasmania; especially when young, the fruit flavours are subtle and in the nectarine/grapefruit spectrum; hints of cream and subtle, toasty oak. Shades of Chablis.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Light- to medium-bodied; smooth, supple and elegant wine, the fruit expressive, oak in the background.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Fresh, delicate, with an extremely long palate and finish, supported by suitably restrained French oak.
