James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Very good colour and clarity; silky, supple, slinky cherry and plum; positive oak, good finish, and a lingering finish. Gold, Sydney Wine Show '08.

Campbell Mattinson (2006 Vintage) says
The Bay of Fires wines fly under the radar a tad but they are uniformly excellent. The sparkling is a beauty. So too is this pinot noir. 2006 RELEASE Just about everything you could ask for in a young pinot noir. It's a fascinating mix of undergrowth, red roses, bright cherries, deli meats and cedarwood, its creamy oak giving the wine a silken smoothness rather than overt flavour. Bravo. This has got me swooning, DRINK 2008-2015.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Elegant and fine, with long red cherry/red berry fruit, and delicate but sustained tannins. The only Australian pinot to withstand the NZ blitz on this class at the National Wine Show '06, where it showed far more than at the Tas Wine Show '07.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
A complex, rich and ripe mix of black fruits; touch of sous bois. Powerful style, on the edge. Patience.
