James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Light, Bright crimson-purple; has juicy red fruit aromas and flavours, the French oak presumably from staves and/or chips (no dishonour at this price); the faintest touch of sweetness has been to the benefit of the wine. Great value.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Mid crimson; a simple, fresh and direct red-fruited wine; clean and well made, and certainly offering good value at this price point.

While this doesn't have the depth of flavour of the Beelgara 'Rascal's Prayer', it does have clean, fresh, lifted, ripe plummy flavours. Straightforward easy drinking
Quaff 2010
Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
Gee, there's some great value out there. This is sweet and easy but with a slurp of tannin to keep it tidy and tucked in. It smells plummy and perhaps a bit minty, but it is blessed with perfect ripeness. Flavours are of poached strawberries and strawberry jam with a hint of pepper and cloves. Given the price, all these characters are remarkable.
The Big Red Wine Book 2009/10
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Abundant blackberry and plum fruit; good structure, and a clever touch of oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Medium-bodied; a mix of red and black fruits carry the alcohol quite well; ripe tannins and a whisk of oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Strong colour; abundant sweet plum and black cherry; subtle oak; a hint of sweetness; will outlive the ratty cork.
