Belgravia Wines Sangiovese

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

Italy is the original home of Sangiovese where it is planted throughout the land of the boot. Recently this red grape is getting a toe-hold in Australia, and this is great because it allows us to taste a whole range of new flavours and textures. Belgravia’s Sangio is a taste sensation that’s brim full of cherry and plum flavours with a savoury finish. It’s perfect with a meat lover’s pizza.

Winemaker's Notes

This brooding wine is laden with rich dark cherry fruit with hints of black olive and ripe plums - its generosity balanced by lovely chalky tannins.

The sangiovese grape likes a good view - or so it would seem. Its home is Tuscany and, given the rolling hills of Orange, it should thrive there too. It's not a big wine but it's a good one. It tastes, attractively, of cherry and blonde tobacco and it's got a delightfully fresh, chewy nature. There's no heaviness from oak here. It's light and tasty, made for drinking at the dinner table.
