Cracka Review

The cool as ice Orange region has proven a real star for Sauvignon Blanc making wines not completely unlike New Zealand's stars, although without quite the fruit intensity, which is not such a bad thing. Fresh picked passionfruit with a little hint of cut grass flavours makes this a serious gluggable Savvy with crisp, fresh acidty to round off the palate.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Pale straw.

Aroma: Kiwifruit, guava juice, grapefruit, toffee apple and a pinch of fresh capsicum.

Palate: Flavours of fresh grapefruit and lemon zest in balance with crisp acidity and a deceptively soft finish.

Wine Analysis: Alc/vol: 13.5%

Vintage: 2012 was a cool vintage, which allowed for a steady ripening period, accentuating the typical Sauvignon Blanc characters.

Peak Drinking: 2013 to 2015. Food Matches: Superb with seafood & lighter dishes.

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; it only takes an instant to realise this is a delicious sauvignon, the bouquet and palate unfolding a full array of tropical fruits headed by passionfruit, guava and kiwi fruit, the finish given special impact with its lemony acidity.

Well made, with an abundance of tropical fruit on both bouquet and palate, neatly offset by some grassy/capsicum nuances; good length.
