Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
A symphonic chardonnay that has a very composed and complex style to it, some very refined oak use, solids derived pithy grapefruit, chalk and flinty mineral notes. It s a breathtaking wine, really pure and concentrated. The palate has fresh stone fruit flavour in the peach and nectarine spectrum, some bright acidity, and smooth pear and nectarine flavour here. Great depth, drive and length, with the merest hint of toasted hazelnut to close.

Michael Cooper (2005 Vintage) says
At its best, as in 2004 this is a magical wine, extremely rich and minerally. Only one barrel was made of the 2005 vintage Grown at Waikari, in North Canterbury, and fermented and aged in 'old oak', with a full, softening malolactic fermentation, it is light yellow, with deep, well-spined flavours, showing some development. Concentrated, with a powerful presence in the mouth, it's drinking well now. Tasted from the barrel (and so not rated), the 2006 is very fragrant, with crisp, rich stone-fruit flavours.
