Beresford Beacon Hill Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Chardonnay has changed, no really, take our word for it, because it’s back in vogue in a big way. The funny thing is, for many of us it never went away. So, if you are looking for a wine that delivers, structure, flavour, balance at a more than reasonable price then this is just the ticket. It’s more than capable of matching a simple dish of chicken salad or stir-fry thanks to its easy going and drinkable allure. It smells of stone fruit and melon with similar flavours on the creamy, long palate.

Winemaker's Notes

Grapes are picked on both colour and flavour development. Fruit is machine harvested in the cool of the night. Cold settling and juice clarification prior to fermentation are used to enhance fruit purity. Cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks with neutral yeast ensures optimum development of varietal characters. Following maturation the wine is blended and prepared for bottling.

Appearance: Pale straw with a green hue.

Nose: Lifted white stone fruits with melon overtones.

Palate: Juicy green apple, white peach and ripe nectarine characters with well-balanced, lively acidity, and a long crisp, clean finish.

Food: Poached salmon or Caesar salad.

Alcohol: 14.0%
