Bertani Velante Pinot Grigio

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This bonny little PG from Bertani is a great food wine that has loads of character. Lots of typical pears, almonds, stone fruits and green apples adorn the nose, whilst the palate shows some fruit richnesswith vibrant acidity, and a dry, smooth finish. It's excellent short-term drinking that would go well with a veggie lasagne.

Winemaker's Notes

Vinification Grapes are harvested at the beginning of September and traditional white wine fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at temperatures of 57-60ºF, with 50% of the juice undergoing malolactic fermentation. The wine then remains in tank on the lees for approximately five months. Following bottling, the wine rests three months before release.

Appearance: Pale gold.

Nose: Complex bouquet with scents of golden apple, ripe pear and peach.

Palate: Fruit aromas carry through on to the palate. Medium-bodied and dry, with a crisp, refreshing acidity.

Food: Delicious on its own or paired with salads, light appetizers, grilled fish and vegetable dishes.
