Best's Great Western Victorian Shiraz

Out of Stock

Cracka Review

Deep red with purple hues in colour. Fresh raspberry and red fruit, with hints of picked herbs and spice.

Medium weight palate with lifted fresh raspberry, red fruit and spice, with hints of butcher shop meatiness, gun-smoke and flint. Firm tannins provide good balance.

Highly aromatic cherry/cherry jam aromas; medium-bodied; red fruits backed by fine tannins.

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (2000 Vintage) says
This is by far the best wine (pardon the pun) under Bests Victorian label we can remember tasting—certainly the best entered for this book. Made using fruit sourced from Bests vineyards near Swan Hill, on the Murray, it's a very dark, sturdy, youthful shiraz with lovely plush ripe berry fruit, soft but firm tannin and good persistence of flavour. Drink young to appreciate its generous fruit.
