Bidgeebong Wines Triangle Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; a nicely composed wine, with an assemblage of red and black fruits, spice and a hint of oak on the bouquet and the medium-bodied palate.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Strong, deep colour; the medium- to full-bodied blend of Gundagai/Tumbarumba fruit is wholly synergistic and carries the alcohol remarkably well; ripe blackberry and plum fruit has a spicy, lively backdrop.
Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Complex black fruits; notes of sweet leather and spice; soft tannins, subtle oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Australian Wine Companion 2006 2005
James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Abundant blackberry, dark fruits and chocolate; a mouthfilling and rich junior brother to the Gundagai Shiraz.
Australian Wine Companion 2005 2004
Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (2002 Vintage) says
The Bidgeebong triangle, say Andrew Birks and Simon Robertson, the partners in this new company, is the area between Young, Wagga VVagga, Tumbarumba and Gundagai. This is sourced from coolish vineyards around Gundagai and Hilltops and warmer sites in the Riverina. There are delicious juicy flavours of dark cherry, spices and violets in this amazingly good-value red.

Ken Gargett (2002 Vintage) says
Bidgeebong is not just a great Aussie name for a wine but it also comes from a great aussie wine region Ñ Gundagai. There's a track winding back to a dog on a tuckerbox and all thatÑthis is the best wine from Gundagai I've tasted. There's no dog or tuckerbox in here, just good, slightly spicy, medium-bodied shiraz that is calling out for a rare T-bone steak, a jacket potato and a corn on the cob. I bloody love Australia.
