Cracka Review

The Honeysuckle in the title should give you a hint that this is a sweeter style of Riesling. Bird in Hand has taken pristine fruit to create a wine that is mouth-watering with impressive palate weight and just the thing to pair with Asian-spiced dishes. Lifted, fruit aromas on the nose, a wine that sows immaculate balance between fruit, sweetness and acidity.

Winemaker's Notes

This Honeysuckle Riesling captures lifted floral aromas with subtle hints of citrus. The cool fermentation retains fresh lime and mineral characteristics, leaving the palate refreshed. It is made in a slightly sweeter style by stopping the fermentation early.

Lifted green apple aromas and a lime cordial palate - quite Germanic in style.

Made in the increasingly common off-dry style by arresting the fermentation; juicy lemon/lime pastille flavours are balanced by bright acidity. Classic drink now or later style.

Lime blossoms and lychees on the nose and a lovely balance of sweetness and acid in the mouth.

Flowery apple blossom aromas, then a crisp palate that reveals its residual sweetness later than one might expect, as it is so well balanced by acidity. Long future. Strange to go to Clare, but it succeeds.

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Punchy, floral aromas and sweet citrus flavours with a delightful floral/musky note.

Full and round, with soft passionfruit/sweet lime flavours, with some autosuggestion of honeysuckle. Intriguing and different.
