Cracka Review

"How does the expression go? A Bird in the Hand is worth two in the bush. But what does that really mean and while you are pondering that question perhaps you should pour yourself a glass of this super charged aromatic white from the Adelaide Hills. A glass full of zingy, zesty citrus fruit complemented by tropical flavours. It’s crisp, clean and best suited to a kilo of prawns. "

Winemaker's Notes

The bright and zesty lemon characteristics from the Semillon are enhanced and made more complex by the intense tropical aromas and flavours of the Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp, fresh and full flavoured, this wine is best enjoyed young.

A blend of 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc ensures a variety of flavours. Bird in Hand Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, fresh and full flavoured, this wine is great with food and is best enjoyed young.

Semillon is the dominant player; it creates a gentle fusion between the varieties, with a relatively soft but evenly balanced palate thanks to the sauvignon blanc.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Another spotlessly clean wine, driven (to advantage) by the Semillon, introducing some more herbal notes to the citrus background; fluid mouthfeel and good acidity.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Lingering, clean, fresh and crisp aromas; sweet lemony acidity; very good mouthfeel.

Light green-yellow; an intense, firm and powerful bouquet with classic green pea, grass and herb aromas is essentially replayed on the powerful palate, which has good length.
