Blackbilly Tempranillo Rosado

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This wine is a bit like a dense Rose in a slightly sweet style. Aromas of red spicy fruits, flowers and earthiness float out of the glass, whilst the palate is light to medium-bodied, fruity, gentle and highly slurpable with more red fruit flavours, a touch of sweetness, and a soft, juicy, savoury-edged finish. It would be a great picnic wine that you could chill if you wanted.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Vibrant pink with purple hue. Bright.

Nose: Complex strawberry, blueberry almost cranberry juice aromatics. Lovely lift of citrus blood grapefruit adds complexity with a hint of lavender.

Palate: Succulent, dry with crisp citrus acidity. Quite complex, rich and round with some beguiling complexity and poise. Uncomplicated and with a slightly earthy, meaty note on the finish.

Food: Tapas, Black Jamon or maybe a seafood pizza or Pasta.

Cellaring: Ideally drink now straight from the ice bucket. Not too cold otherwise palate will be simple.

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
A snazzy, bright rose that offers up a wealth of red fruits on the nose, some sweet fragrance and lifted florals - enticing, mouth-watering stuff. The palate's supple and well-judged, with musky strawberry fruit flavours and nicely judged sugar balance. Will take a god chill in its stride.
