Nick Stock (2012 Vintage) says
Sourced from the cooler Awatere Valley, this has a bright and elegant nose that delivers pristine gooseberry and lime fruit aromas, some passionfruit here too. The palate s elegantly shaped, acidity is a feature, with betel leaf and Thai basil, and lime juice flavour building through the finish.

Shows textbook Marlborough passionfruit and big aromatic punch - you won't miss this in a line-up. From the Awatere River Valley, there are gravelly minerals that carry through to the palate, ditto for the tropical fruits; nice balance, flinty finish.

Blind River followers will be well familiar with the ripe pear and succulent passionfruit flavours that Barry Feickert masterfully injects into the brittle citrus exoskeleton of his Sauvignon Blanc. We are delighted to report that the 2006 is even more impeccable than its electric predecessors. The ripeness and precision of the fruit are almost unnerving and there is serious balance and laudable length on the finish. This vintage is everything that we have come to love from this label, with an extra sprinkle of magic, perfumed fairy dust, giving it more lift and perfume than ever.
