Blue Pyrenees Brut Rose

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

We don't give many 5 star ratings here at Cracka but this one was 5 stars from the first sniff. It is bloody gorgeous bubbly, better than Champagnes at four times the price. If the lady likes Rose then this is a no-brainer!

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Brilliant salmon pink with a fine but persistent effervescence.

Aroma:Yeast autolysis characters of freshly baked bread along with strawberry confection.

Flavour: Classic sparkling Pinot Noir structure with maturity and softness surrounding the red apple fruit flavours, bakery confection and a fine acid backbone. This is a complex wine with many flavours but most importantly for sparkling wine, it has balance and finesse, highlighted by a crisp clean finish.

Stylish wine with plenty of character. Some fine fruit and high alcohol with a nice acid backbone.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Small red fruits centred around strawberry; low dosage and brisk acidity; chilled aperitif style. Whole bunch-pressed estate-grown pinot noir.

Light pink with a developed yeasty nose and an excellent balance of peach and red apple flavours. Palate tart and sweet. Good bubble size.
