Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2005 Vintage) says
When barbera is really good, it's fresh, bright and well structured, with a keen ability to drink well both when young and after it has had a handful of years in a cellar. It also, of course, drinks at its best when accompanied by crisp-based pizza. This is so laid back it's almost asleep. It tastes of raisins, raspberries and aniseed, and it's quite sweet, with no real tannin grip to speak of. The flavours are good, but it needs more sturdiness to get us excited.

Closed nose but shows promise of things to come. Beautiful berry fruit flavours and soft, subtle tannins.
