Brightly hued; relatively light-bodied, and distinctly in the savoury/spicy spectrum, but has considerable thrust and energy to the long palate.

Fragrant spicy plum and black cherry aromas; a light-bodied, supple palate with good pinot varietal character throughout. Impressive outcome for the region.

Now don't get me wrong, this is a perfectly good pinot with lovely perfume and a very nice light-medium bodied palate, but that's not the main reason it's in the book. It's in because Borrodell sounds very much like Borrowdale, the horse on which I had probably my biggest win at the races. I LOVED Borrowdale and I really like Borrodell, which, as we always explain, is in Orange not coloured orange.
