James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Clean, fragrant red and blackcurrant fruit in a fresh, light to medium-bodied, confirming the Bowen change of style.
Australian Wine Companion 2005 2004
James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium purple-red; ripe, rich blackcurrant and blackberry fruit drives the bouquet; a powerful, full-flavoured palate with touches of chocolate, and supple, ripe tannins. A mere 140 alcohol.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet has greater ripeness and substance than any previous release of this wine I can remember, with a pleasant touch of earthy Cabernet Sauvignon providing backbone. A really nice wine on the palate, with no green characters, simply red berry and a hint of mint supported by well-handled oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
The colour is starting to show some development, slightly surprising for a '96 vintage wine. The bouquet ranges through leaf, tobacco, cedar and earth, but the palate has much more richness than the bouquet suggests, sweetened by hints of chocolate and vanilla, and supported by soft tannins.
