Broken Gate Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
This newish label sources grapes from various Australian wine regions - and then offers them at realistic prices. Broken Gate is the top label, Side Gate is the lower-priced label. Pretty spiffy wine. Sweet and sour, velvety and chewy - these characteristics sound like contradictions, but they work in harmony here. Dark cherries and cedarwood, enough tannin to keep it firm, but not enough to intrude. There's the odd, stewy, smoky note, but there is a lot of pleasure to be had here.
