Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
This distinguished red is grown on a sheltered, north-facing slope between Maraekakaho and Bridge Pa in Hawke's Bay (described by winemaker Peter Robertson as 'surreal - a chosen site'). The 2009 vintage matured for 15 months in 'predominantly' new oak casks, is deep and youthful in colour, with rich blackcurrant, plum, spice and pepper flavours, ripe, sweetly oaked, supple and lingering. Finely balanced, it's delicious now.

This distinguished red is grown on a sheltered, north-facing slope between Maraekakaho and Bridge Pa in Hawke's Bay (described by winemaker Peter Robertson as 'surreal — a chosen site'). The 2007 vintage, matured for 18 months in all-new oak casks, is deeply coloured, with a fragrant bouquet mingling spices and sweet oak. Rich and flowing, it's a generous, seductive wine with highly concentrated blackcurrant, spice, chocolate and nut flavours, and ripe, firm tannins. A wine of real power, it should be long-lived.
