Made from various muscat grapes, the Lexia has been a favourite of the Aussie wine drinker for many, many years. It's a lower alcohol (10%), sweeter style of wine that shows lots of musk stick, grapey and lychee aromas on the nose that satisfies the senses. The palate is lighter-bodied and sweet with zesty acidity, and a refreshing finish that will have you reaching for another glass. Try it chilled as an aperitif, or with soft cheeses.

Winemaker's Notes

This Lexia has a brilliant yellow colour with hues of green and a nose displaying aromas of musk, tropical fruit and grapes. The acid level balances beautifully with the natural sugar, resulting in a wine that is fresh, crisp and clean. Full of generous ripe fruit characters, the palate also leaves you with a hint of lingering spice.

This wine is suited for immediate consumption, but will age gracefully in the bottle for 5-8 years from vintage if cellared well.

This late harvest wine is great with laksa and other spicy dishes. It’s also a great match with a platter of washed rind cheese served with slices of fresh pear. Alternatively this wine can accompany desserts such as orange poppy-seed cake or lemon delicious.

This is one of the Reliables, and it has been present in every edition of Quaff. Once again, it's bloody good. There are marvellous, bold floral aromatics - rose petal and Turkish delight - and vibrant sweet flavours, but also excellent balance from the crisp, cleansing acidity. It's the one.

This is one of the reliables (called Spatlese Lexia in 2006) as it has been omnipresent in Quaff. There are the distinctive grapey aromatics that you expect with lexia, but in 2007 it's quite dramatic. The flavours are full-on and sweet while the texture is soft and silky before it finishes clean, crisp and fresh.
