Brown Brothers Limited Release Pinot Grigio

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Unmistakable pears and apples on the nose of this ripe top-tier pinot grigio, which looks a little like a gris/grigio hybrid. The palate has silky texture that is the result of ripe fruit and higher alcohol (14%), the acidity is crunchy but the overall result is smooth, medium-weight style. Great match for a cream-based soup.

Next stop, snowfields! From the legendary Whitlands vineyard in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, there's mountain air to thank for the fine-grained minerality here. Enticing poached pear and crunchy golden delicious apple fruit.

Ten-year-old estate-grown vines on Brown Brothers' high-altitude Whitlands Vineyard, crop thinned, hand picked, whole bunch pressed, free run juice and cold-fermented thoroughly justifies the price. Has pear, lychee and citrus aromas and flavours, and carries its alcohol, normally a challenge for this variety.

Excellent intensity of fruity aromas with nutty layers. Rich tropical fruit flavours and just the right amount of acid to balance. Good summer food wine.
