Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says
What a wonderful aroma that greets you from the outset. Cherry, mint and black currant all come together in a beautiful complex aroma that sets you up for the palate, where the deeply intense and concentrated cabernet fruit is evident. Wonderful oak and fruit balance where it all fits so snugly together. Excellent wine for now or for extended cellaring.

Deep, dark purple-crimson; the bouquet has abundant black cherry and blackberry fruit framed by vanillan oak, characters that are mirrored on the medium-bodied palate, the almost sweet tannins a feature of the finish.

Shows great elegance and style. Light savoury cherry and plum aromas with lifted spice and dark chocolate characters. The palate is a seamless, tightly woven mix that harnesses the fruit intensity with fine oak and tannins. Long finish for what is a very stylish wine. You will be able to cellar this one for a few years.

Strikingly dense crimson; an equally dense, full-bodied palate with layers of blackberry, plum, licorice and vanilla, an appealing spicy, savoury edge tightening up the structure.

A silky smooth and polished Shiraz, I love the aromas of cherry and cedar with traces of vanilla and chocolate. Precise and focussed palate, held together with fine tannins and fine-grained oak. Persistent and long. Very concentrated and a wine that will cellar for 10 years easily.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Toasty oak nose with a fragrant perfumed lift. _Gorgeous palate,î said one judge. A perfectly seamless balance between sour cherry fruit, quality oak and grippy tannins.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
More developed colour than Chaffers; more complex but less focused; medium-bodied, with fruit supported by vanilla oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
More extract and depth than Chaffers; distinct spice, earth and dark chocolate characters; perhaps pushed a little too hard in the winery.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Dense red-purple; rich, powerful and intense black fruits with firm tannins and controlled oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Powerful, sinewy wine; black cherry, earth and blackberry; savoury tannins; handles higher alcohol (14.5°) better; simply needs time.
