Cracka Review

Named after a local bridge that crosses the Murray River, this is typically warm and generous Chardonnay in that sunny golden style (which our our inland regions do so well). This would go particularly well with a proper chicken parmy (don't spare the cheese).

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Pale gold.

Aroma: Rich, ripe peach with vanillin oak scents.

Palate: On the front palate, flavours of white peach and melon. Vanillin oak and tannins show on the mid palate. The soft finish displays lemony acidity balancing the fruit flavours. Richness on the finish.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Very spicy nose with toasty complexity. Oak-driven palate with some nice varietal fruit underneath.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Smells spicy, with plenty of pencil shavings-like oak. Oaky palate shows interesting citrus-rind flavours with pronounced acid finish.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; very ripe peach/canned fruit aromas are classic sunshine in a bottle; the ripe, peachy fruit is lusciously sweet, probably due to the 14.5 degrees alcohol. Oak barely intrudes into the picture.
