Buller Black Dog Creek Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Not the biggest, baddest Shiraz in town but this still has plenty of chunky fruit flavour. Blackberry, cherry, spice - the full package finishing long and strong. A wine for bangers and mash.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Deep crimson with mauve hues

Aroma: Perfumed plum and spice aromas

Palate: Silky smooth mouthfeel with flavours of plums, raspberries and a hint of mocha and spices. Fine tannins. Lingering finish brings back the richness of the flavours underpinned by oak.

Buller Black Dog Creek Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Good hue; a complex array of meat, hay and spice overtones to the black fruits, notes of game coming again on the aftertaste.
Angus Hughson (2008 Vintage) says
Buller Black Dog Shiraz is as honest as they come. Medium weight dark fruit flavours with soft tannins and a little earthy spice. Easy drinking BBQ red at its best.
WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Lovely lifted wine; a real cherry berry bomb with savoury oak, unobtrusive tannins and a long, lingering finish.
