Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
Estate-grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured for 18 months in new oak barriques, the 2007 vintage is deeply coloured, firm, savoury and nutty, with good concentration and the structure to age well. Open 2012+.

The 2006 vintage was grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured for 18 months in new French and American oak barriques. Fragrant, firm and youthful, it has a smoky bouquet, with good complexity and strong, ripe flavours of berry fruits, spices, herbs and nuts.

C J Pask reds typically show enthusiastic use of sweet oak. Matured for 14 months in French and American oak casks (new to two years old), the 1997 vintage is a perfumed, rounded Hawke's Bay red with very good depth of blackcurrant and plum, slightly minty flavours, although the wood almost dominates the fruit.
