There’s nothing new about Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, for the last decade this wine style has been laying siege to our bottle shops and it refuses to remove its vice like grip. One thing that has happened though is a refinement of the style and this Savvy from Cable Station is indicative of the new breed of Marlborough. It’s typically varietal with grapefruit and lime aromas that continue on the palate with a burst of passionfruit tropicality and crunchy acids on the long finish. A fun wine to have on hand when friends unexpectedly turn up and demand liquid refreshment.
Color: A lovely rich ruby color.
Bouquet: Clear light straw with green highlights.
Palate: Intense pungency of grapefruit and lime mingle with more tropical passion fruit notes.
