Michael Cooper (2006 Vintage) says
Dark and still youthful in colour, the 2006 vintage of this Martinborough red should be long-lived. Matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (new and seasoned), it's a stylish, finely textured wine with highly concentrated, well-ripened blackcurrant, herb and nut flavours.

Typically a gutsy, full-flavoured Martinborough red. The 2000 vintage, matured for 10 months in French oak casks, is deeply coloured, with plenty of plummy, green-edged flavour. The 2001 is very dark, in a high-extract style with strong, crisp plum, blackcurrant and green leaf flavours. It needs cellaring; open 2004+.

Dense red-purple; very ripe plum and prune fruit on the bouquet leads into a big, rich wine with plenty of tannin on the palate, although it does dip ever-so-slightly on die back palate.

Typically a gutsy and full-flavoured Martinborough red. The powerful 1998 vintage is dark, concentrated and youthful. Based on very low-cropping (3.5 tonnes/ha) vines and matured for 10 months in French oak casks (new and one-year-old), it's a strapping, moderately complex wine with rich flavours of blackcurrant and spice to the fore, encased by firm but balanced tannins

Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
Typically a gutsy and full-flavoured Martinborough red. The 1997 vintage reveals full, bright colour and a slightly herbal bouquet. Matured in French oak casks, it's a distinctly cool-climate style with good body and depth of blackcurrant, plum and mint flavour and some complexity, but also a slight lack of softness and warmth.
