Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
A little known, not especially refined but characterful Martinborough wine. The weighty, full-flavoured 1998 vintage was harvested at 24 brix and fermented and lees-aged for 11 months in new French oak barriques, with full malolactic fermentation. Light gold, it's a ripe, slightly honied wine with crisp, strong tropical and citrus fruit flavours, lots of toasty oak and mouthfilling body.

Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
A little known, not especially refined but characterful Martinborough wine. The 1997 was fermented and matured on its yeast lees for 10 months in French oak barriques and given a full malolactic fermentation. It's a flavoursome, moderately complex wine with crisp, lemony, buttery, slightly toffee-like flavours, quite tense in its youth.
