Canobolas-Smith Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
In typical Canobolas-Smith style, elegant and precise; a slightly hard edge of acidity just takes the wine out of top tier.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium yellow-green; the bouquet is clean and attractive, with melon fruit and subtle oak. The wine picks up pace on the very fresh palate, which has impressive citrus and melon fruit and great intensity and length.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium to full yellow-green; the bouquet shows strong barrel ferment inputs, nutty and rich; the palate retains some elegance, notwithstanding the quite assertive barrel-ferment oak characters. There are white peach flavours and the wine has moderate length.
Australian Wine Companion 1999 1998
James Halliday (1995 Vintage) says
Medium yellow-green; a very stylish and fragrant bouquet with barrel ferment French oak woven through tangy melon/grapefruit aromas; in the mouth the wine is no less stylish, with light but long-flavoured citrus/melon/grapefruit flavours and more of the high-quality oak evident on the bouquet
